It is with great pleasure that I welcome the arrival of this latest recording of brass band music by Martin Ellerby. All the works were composed during the past ten years, some quite recently, and all of them are consistently representative of Ellerby's ever-fertile imagination and joyful melodic invention. I have followed this composer's career for over 30 years and admired his outstanding contribution to new music for wind and brass, which is now acknowledged world-wide.
