The National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain 2008 presented some formidable challenges for the participating bands. London's Royal Albert Hall (Championship section) and Harrogate's International Concert Hall (sections 1 to 4) were the venues as each contender strove to increase the silverware in its trophy cabinet and take home the top prize. This CD contains recordings of the winning performances in all five sections.
During the interval between the Championship Section and the results being announced, the audience was treated to a short concert by Grimethorpe Colliery Band called 'Queen - according to Grimethorpe'. Extracts from the concert are interspersed between the test pieces on this CD.
